What area of business are you in?

Travel industry!
I run group trips for women with a fitness discipline (yoga, pilates, etc), volunteer work, and personal development workshops. Basically a fun trip to explore, give, and connect with yourself and others.

 

How did the idea for your business come about? Or what sparked a change in your current business?

I traveled the world for 10 years mainly doing community services projects. I wanted to be able to offer the same opportunities I had, to other people.
Women are taught to take care of everyone in the home, Soul Trips gives them a chance to getaway and recharge!

 

What were the biggest initial hurdles to building your business and how did you overcome them?

Not having enough money and not knowing enough about the marketing side of things. I decided to invest in myself and took a few courses and classes to learn about the things I needed to know for my business. It made a huge difference.

 

Anything you would do differently in hindsight?

Absolutely! I would make a proper business plan, which I didn’t have in the beginning. I would schedule time for self care as I am the most important asset of the company, however, I don’t regret the decisions I’ve made. They have made me who I am today as a business owner.

 

What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business success?

Word of mouth is by far the most influential factor. If you do a good job people will talk about it and it is inevitable that you get more business when people say good things about you.

 

What advice would you give to an upcoming entrepreneur locally or internationally?

The number one thing I would suggest is to include yourself in the business plan. We have a plan for everything, marketing, financial, etc. But rarely you see the entrepreneur as part of the plan, call it “Me time”. It should include time and money to invest in yourself.

 

Which product or service you offer that you are you most proud of?

 
My trips!
Every Soul Trip has a very unique touch, we visit beautiful places, connect with the locals, work on our bodies and minds, we learn together, and we volunteer our time. The experiences are amazingly unique for the participants every time.
